Viagra - The "Erectile Dysfunction" Prescription Drug
What is Viagra?
Viagra, generic name sildenafil citrate, is a prescription pill designed to help men suffering from erectile dysfunction maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse to take place.
What class of drug is it?
It induces an erection by inhibiting the action of aphosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE5).
Who manufactures Viagra?

How is Viagra used?
Viagra restores erectile function by increasing the flow of blood to the penis when sexual stimulation takes place. It should be taken 30 minutes to one hour before sex. It usually starts to work after 25 minutes. It is advisable to not take more than one Viagra tablet per day.
Has Viagra been approved by the European Commission and the FDA for use as a treatment for erectile dysfunction / impotence?
THE FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved Viagra (sildenafil citrate) as a treatment for impotence on March 27th, 1998. See FDA approves novel drug for erectile dysfunction for further details. Viagra was the first oral pill approved to treat impotence. The EMEA (the European Medicines Evaluation Agency) approved the drug on September 14th, 1998.

It is taken orally between 30 minutes and one hour before sex. The viagra tablet comes in three dose levels, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg. If you buy Viagra over the internet, you will usually find it cheaper to buy 100mg tablets and split them in two (to get two doses) than to buy 50mg tablets.
